Are You Buying a Hyperbaric Chamber Without PVHO Certification? Read This First.
There’s a growing trend in NZ and Australia: people buying hyperbaric oxygen chambers that are marketed as “medical grade” but don’t meet PVHO safety standards.
🛑 PVHO (Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy) is a non-negotiable international standard for any chamber operating above 1.5 ATA.
📉 Many imported or cheaper systems on the market claim to go to 2.0 ATA or more—but lack this certification.
Here’s why that’s a problem:
No PVHO = no compliance with AS/NZS 4774 guidelines.
Safety risks: Without PVHO, you’re trusting your health to a pressurised tube that hasn’t been proven to handle the stress.
Legal & insurance risks: If something goes wrong, you could be left exposed.
If you’re using or considering HBOT—whether for personal wellness, clinic treatments, or elite recovery—make sure your chamber is fully certified and compliant.
We’re seeing too many people spend big money on chambers that look good but aren’t built to standard. Education is key here.
If you’re unsure what to look for, we’re happy to help decode the safety standards and show you what compliance actually looks like.
Don’t risk your health or reputation to save a few thousand.
